Re: Friday Facts #228 - High resolution turrets
Absolutely love them. Great work! We believe that the new stand fits much better to the laser turret as it doesn't need any super heavy basing, and makes the two turrets more visually distinguishable. I get that I really do. More elegant basing totally fits laser turrets. However,... it's kinda weir...

Re: Friday Facts #226 - New mod portal & other news
we have come to the conclusion that we need more time Calmer heads have prevailed. The solution to most problems is simply time, and I am grad to see that you are taking time here, if not to implement a more complex solution, at least to analyze what has been said more closely. Good luck at the con...

Re: Friday Facts #225 - Bots versus belts (part 2)
"5+ times stronger than anything else" I even believe that robot-only Factory should be possible and not useless, I just don't believe, that they should be 5+ times stronger than anything else. Considering in your test setup the bots not only have higher tech / progression as you say but ...

Re: Friday Facts #224 - Bots versus belts
I'm pro bot. For one things it's because of that sense of progression. The fact that they let you scale so much higher is what gives them a place in Factorio. I don't like this transition because it isn't smooth but building up to high science pack tech and then building entirely new factory from s...

Re: Why defending is a dilemma and enemies need polish
The problem with defending against aliens is that there is ZERO strategical choice and ZERO combat challenge involved in it. You just draw a line of whatever turret suits your preferences and done, problem solved, come ant or behemoth. Instead of evolving your defense layout you research number upgr...

Re: Improve co-op Combat and Vehicles
The braking force on the tank is purposefully weak because it makes for a lot of fun mistakes when you ram into things/people. Don't you think it's a little over the top with rocket fuel? Also, you have to remember your core playerbase are obsessive perfectionists :P the modding community can go wi...

Improve co-op Combat and Vehicles
List of proposed changes * Improve break force of Tanks * Combine both Tank Shell/Ammo types (at least for uranium versions) * Add multipassenger Vehicles Details 1) Break force Tanks should either have a better break by default or benefit from the Breakforce Research (have their own version of it ...

Can somebody re-upload the file? Would like to learn something from Twinsen but the map cannot be loaded. "init.dat" produces CRC error when trying to unpack. Archive is probably damaged.

You know ow, since we cannot "rotate" bricks and concrete how about you guys bind "rotate through available textutes" to "R" and add all the options that have come up to it? :D That way we can have the old concrete texture, this new one as an alternative to bricks and t...

Well stack filter inserters weren't needed to beat the game either

Re: Friday Facts #214 - Concrete rendering
I also agree with @Pinga, the hazard lines should be square or diagonal, not faded like they are now. Fading is really weird IMO and doesn't happen IRL. It doesn't fade, it's just a sloppy paint job around the edges. And why not? The edges aren't important, neither are the looks. It just needs to w...

What you created here may not look like concrete but.... can we keep it, please? Please! It looks absolutely gorgeous and I need to have that in my factory. That aside,... One issue Factorio has always had with flooring which I haven't seen mentioned is plants and grass sticking out from under a sol...

Re: Difficulty curve and how to keep players till end game
You can easily handcraft EVERYTHING involved in oil setups which are powerful enough to supply rockets. It gets more convenient if you automate pipes and underground pipes but that is trivial to do even with grey assemblers. I don't get the ruckus about oil. Yeah I still remember it was a tougher th...

Re: Difficulty curve and how to keep players till end game
This is such a non-issue. Why does it keep getting bumped? I'd wager the vast majority of games only takes like 1/3 of it's buyers through a decent attempt and even less through a worthy playthrough. Just check a number of games on my steam achievement list and they all shared the same or even worse...

There is an awesome first person shooter called Join the Army in RL. The tutorial is rough and long but in the end you get to shoot bad guys, rank up your career and if you stick with your team you may actually win a war. You can use the money you make while playing for the inbuilt feature "pla...
