Skype is awful. Anything that doesn't force Push To Talk is awful. PTT is king.

Nobody wants to hear some other person's creepy heavy breathing or someone's coughing and sneezing or a bunch of other annoying background sound. Or, even worse, those kinds of people who talk incessantly and don't know when to stop talking.

PTT Mumble > PTT Teamspeak > PTT Ventrilo > actual phone calls > carrier pidgeon > waterboarding > skin flaying > Skype and all forms of voice-activation or always-on microphones
